Reviving Chicago Community News

An emerging generation of reporters is driving the way to revive local news coverage and mitigate the threat to democracy. Our goal is to find unprecedented resources to build on proven strategies, while eliminating longstanding inequities in coverage of journalism and practices.

Recent graduates and students recently inaugurated the Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent site this week, providing artistic and social interaction to an area once known for its gun violence. The WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak to the Founders of the Market who explained their purpose as more than serving food, but as creating a more welcoming culture as one of their goals.
